Blue Ridge Relay

Our desire in 2003 was to create a relay-style running race that showcased the beauty of our mountain home in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina.  The adventure that we started took 2 years to develop as we worked to gain the necessary permits and permissions, and to create a course that focused on the beauty of the back-country roads, while minimizing the roadways that most travelers typically see.

In our inaugural year of 2005, the Blue Ridge Relay hosted 10 teams.  We are grateful to the teams that took a chance with us during our first year and continue to be grateful each year for every team that runs with us.

As BRR approaches its 20th anniversary, our desire remains true to our roots…to share the beauty of our mountain home with other runners.
